Peace and Human Rights Workshop

In partnership with the Philippine Normal University, through the Center for Transformative Education of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences (FBeSS-CTE), is organizing the first ever Peace and Human Rights Workshop with refugees on November 3 - 4, 2025, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Audio-Visual Theater, 4th Floor, Edilberto P. Dagot Hall of Philippine Normal University.

The event seeks to deepen the understanding of the legal framework governing refugees in the Philippines, including the Refugee Status Determination (RSD) process and complementary protection. It will also provide practical guidance for schools and local partners working with refugees and asylum seekers, while surfacing policy and implementation gaps and identifying collaborative next steps.

The audience will include PNU faculty, pre-service teachers, student leaders, and other stakeholders. Program highlights include an opening and context setting by PNU FBeSS-CTE and PACCI, “Voices of Refugees” dialogue circles and testimonies, the panel on “Rights of Refugees and Who They Are” with UNHCR, DOJ-RSPPU, CHR, and partners; and a synthesis of commitments for education and local inclusion actions.
