PAUSE AND REFLECT SESSION:
Charting Our Future Together in PACCI
June 7-9, 2024
Over the past six years, PACCI has been dedicated to serving its rightsholders. For the first time, the organization hosted a significant event focused on reflection and future planning. The event, titled “Pause and Reflect Session: Charting Our Future Together in PACCI,” was held from June 7-9, 2024, at Le Monet Hotel in Baguio City.
Fifteen participants attended the workshop, representing CFSI, PACCI, and VOICE, including rightsholders from Arab countries and Africa, ensuring a balanced and diverse representation.
The primary goal of the session was to encourage PACCI’s teams and key personnel to engage in critical self-assessment, review their achievements, evaluate current processes, and allow stakeholders to freely share their reflections. The session aimed to create a structured environment for learning, knowledge generation, and evidence-based decision-making. Additionally, it sought to provide a framework for the intentional development of strategies, programs, and organizational processes.
This activity was designed to strengthen PACCI’s organizational direction by involving all stakeholders in a review of the organization’s vision, mission, and goals. It also served as a platform for implementing a bottom-up approach to decision-making, ensuring that all voices within the organization were heard.
The outcomes of this session will be instrumental in creating PACCI’s first brochure and in the continued development of the organization’s policy manual.
Prior to the event, pre-work was facilitated for some rightsholders and PACCI staff, including:
SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) Analysis: The PACCI team conducted an internal SWOT analysis before the workshop, which would helped guide the direction setting process in the making of the policy manual.
During the main workshop, participants were divided into two groups to discuss the following topics:
1. Reasons for Being
2. Value Proposition (What differentiates PACCI from other groups?)
3. Our Culture
4. Structure
5. Decision-Making in the Organization
6. Talent (What staff does PACCI need, and what are their basic qualifications?)
7. Ecosystem (List of networks)
8. Technology Systems
9. Learning
10. Resource Mobilization
This initiative marks a pivotal moment in PACCI’s journey. By reflecting on our past and collaboratively charting our future, we are not only reinforcing our organizational foundation but also setting the stage for a more resilient, inclusive, and dynamic PACCI. Together, we are laying the groundwork for sustained growth and impact, ensuring that PACCI remains a beacon of support and empowerment for our rightsholders and communities in the years to come.
